Perhaps I Owe You An Explanation….

Published On 31 December, 2014 | Food for thought

It’s no secret that I have been a little off radar for the tail end of this year.  My family and I still eat well, but perhaps we entertain a little less.  I still love food, but my attention has been split.  I’m a little embarrassed to look at my recipe index and see how I’ve dropped from 8-10 posts a month to one.  But I can explain.

Over the last three or four months I have been splitting my time between family, the day job and the passion project.  I’ve been working the “9-5” then coming home and spending another three or four hours a day studying the world of wine once the kids were sleeping.

Tonight's research. #kosherwine

My wife, my incredibly supportive wife, has seen how torn I was between my love for my work and my dedication to my passion project, and it reached the point that something suffered.

My food writing suffered.

At least I still have all my hair.

I love that you’ve emailed me and tweeted me to tell me how you miss my writing.  I love that we’re still connecting on Facebook and the good news is that I have a bunch of blog posts and wine tasting notes to share with you in 2015.  So many photos ready to go and drafts ready to polish.  And I strongly suspect that I am going to have a little more time to dedicate to you because…

I quit my day job.

You see.  As of January 1, the day job and the passion project will marry as I step into the role of Director of Marketing and Customer Experience at KosherWine.com and it’s sister companies.

That’s how I know that I’ll have much more time to dedicate to food.  And wine.

This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but I believe it’s the right decision and now I am able to dedicate my time to helping you find the perfect dish and the perfect wine pairing for every occasion.

I want help you find your new favorite wine.

So… here’s to a new beginning.  New adventures… New wine.  Here’s my promise that I’ll be sharing my recipes more often.  I’ve missed writing, and I’m glad to be back.

Happy New Year!

My gift to you – a pre-written tweet for you to grab if you want me to send you a coupon for your next order!
